✨ Moroccan Tfosikha Incense — Bitter and Sweet Traditional Bakhour
Moroccan Tfosikha Incense is a loose, coarse bakhour blend offered in Bitter and Sweet options, known in Darija as tfosikha, tfousikha and bakhour tfosikha, and in Arabic as بخور التفوسيخة. The Bitter blend pictured shows dark seeds, dried botanical fragments, crushed aromatic pieces and pale translucent chunks; the Sweet blend is brighter and more colourful, with glossy dark pieces and vivid accents. When placed on charcoal, it gives a deep, earthy, complex scent that belongs to the familiar world of Moroccan home fumigation.
🌿 Traditional and Cultural Uses
In Moroccan household tradition, tfosikha was burned to scent the home, mark a new beginning and accompany family occasions. It has long been used in customary fumigation for spiritual renewal and to ward off envy and the evil eye. Some families also burned it during moments of heaviness or unease, as part of a traditional ritual intended to bring a calmer atmosphere to the home.
🍵 How to Use
- 🔥 Place a small pinch on a fully lit charcoal disc in a heatproof incense burner.
- 🏠 Let the fragrant smoke travel through the room for customary home fumigation.
- 🧿 Burn it during a family gathering or a personal traditional ritual.
🥣 Preparation
- Set a charcoal disc in a suitable heatproof burner and let it become covered with a light ash.
- Add a small pinch of the loose blend; its coarse pieces are intended to be used as they are.
- Refresh with another small pinch only after the first has finished smoking.
🧾 Ingredients
This is a composed incense blend rather than a single herb. Its precise formula has not been provided, so this listing does not claim individual plant names; the product is supplied in the coarse mixed form shown in the photograph.
