Moroccan Sidr comes from the dried leaves of the sidr tree, also known as the lote tree, Christ’s thorn jujube and Ziziphus spina-christi. In Arabic it is called سدر and ورق السدر; in Morocco, customers may also ask for sidr leaves, sidr powder, poudre de sidr or مسحوق السدر. The whole leaves are dry, light green and softly aromatic, while the powder is finely ground to make a smooth, plant-based paste.

🥣 Simple Sidr Paste

1. Place the sidr powder in a clean bowl.
2. Add warm water little by little while stirring until the texture is smooth and spreadable.
3. Apply the paste to damp hair and scalp, or use it as part of a skin-cleansing routine.
4. Rinse thoroughly with water after use.

🌤️ Storage

Keep sidr in its sealed pouch or an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Use a clean, dry spoon for the powder and close the container well after each use to preserve its natural leaf aroma and texture.
