✨ Whole Cloves — A Warm, Fragrant Kitchen Spice
Whole cloves are the dried flower buds of the clove tree, known in Arabic as القرنفل and in Moroccan Darija as qronfol or kronfol. In French they are called clous de girofle, while their botanical name is Syzygium aromaticum. Each dark brown bud has a small rounded head and a firm stem, releasing a deep, warm aroma that is sweet, woody and gently peppery when it meets heat.
🌿 Traditional and Cultural Uses
Cloves have long held a place in Moroccan, Arab and wider Indian Ocean cooking traditions. In Moroccan homes, they were traditionally added sparingly to tea, broth and slow-cooked dishes for their rich perfume. They were also traditionally steeped in warm drinks and used after meals in household routines for their aromatic, warming character. At festive tables, a few whole cloves brought their distinctive fragrance to sweet preparations and spiced rice.
🍵 How to Use
- 🍵 Add one or two whole cloves to Moroccan tea or another hot drink while it steeps.
- 🍲 Simmer a few buds in a tagine, broth or rice dish, then remove them before serving.
- 🍰 Use in cakes, biscuits, compotes or fruit preserves for a warm spice note.
- 🌾 Combine with cinnamon, black pepper, ginger or cardamom when building your own spice blend.

- Bring water to a gentle simmer in a small pot.
- Add tea leaves or tea bags, together with two whole cloves and a small piece of cinnamon if desired.
- Let the flavours infuse briefly, then strain and sweeten to taste.

Cloves are unopened flower buds from Syzygium aromaticum, an aromatic evergreen in the myrtle family. This product is supplied as whole, loose dried buds rather than powder, so the spice can be added whole and removed easily after infusing or cooking.

🌤️ Storage
Keep cloves in a tightly closed jar or pouch in a cool, dry cupboard away from sunlight and humidity. Store them whole until needed to help preserve their aroma; replace when their fragrance becomes noticeably faint.

How it works
Important to know
- Change-of-mind return: You pay the return delivery cost. The original delivery fee (MAD 20 within Safi or MAD 40 to other cities) is not refundable, but no hidden delivery fee is deducted from orders that qualified for free delivery.
- Incorrect, damaged, or defective item: We cover the agreed return cost and offer a replacement when available or a refund.
- Refund method and timing: Approved refunds are sent by bank transfer, Cash Plus, or Wafacash within 7 business days after we receive, inspect, and approve the return.
- Opened or used products: Personal care products, oils, herbs, soaps, incense, and similar products cannot be returned for a change of mind. This does not apply to an incorrect, damaged, or defective product.
- Order cancellation: You can cancel before the order is handed to the delivery company. After dispatch, the return conditions above apply.

Delivery
