✨ Moroccan Basil — Fragrant Rihan for the Kitchen
Moroccan basil is the aromatic herb known in Arabic as rayhan and in Moroccan Darija as rihan. Also called sweet basil, basilic marocain and Ocimum basilicum, it is valued for its green colour, warm herbal scent and recognisable basil flavour. This product brings that familiar plant to the cupboard in two practical forms: loose dried leaves and a fine green powder.
🌿 Traditional and cultural uses
In Moroccan household tradition, rihan was kept as a fragrant herb for the kitchen and prepared as a warm herbal drink. It was traditionally added to food for its aromatic character, and its fresh scent gave it a place in home herb collections. Across Mediterranean cooking, basil has long been used to brighten tomato dishes, soups, vegetables and simple sauces.
🍵 How to use
- 🥣 Stir the powder into soups, sauces, marinades or seasoning mixes.
- 🍅 Add the dried leaves to tomato dishes, vegetables or pasta sauces.
- 🍵 Steep a small amount of leaves in hot water for a fragrant herbal infusion.
- 🌿 Sprinkle either form into a recipe near the end of cooking to keep its aroma present.
🥣 Simple basil sauce
- Warm a little olive oil in a pan and add chopped tomato or tomato sauce.
- Season with salt, then stir in Moroccan basil leaves or a small spoonful of basil powder.
- Let the sauce warm briefly, then serve with vegetables, pasta or bread.

Choose Leaves or Powder. Available in 100g, 250g, 500g, 1kg, 2kg, 3kg and 5kg options. You receive loose dried basil leaves or finely ground basil powder according to the form selected.
🌤️ Storage
Keep basil in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and moisture. Close the container promptly after use to protect its aroma.

Important to know
- Change-of-mind return: You pay the return delivery cost. The original delivery fee (MAD 20 within Safi or MAD 40 to other cities) is not refundable, but no hidden delivery fee is deducted from orders that qualified for free delivery.
- Incorrect, damaged, or defective item: We cover the agreed return cost and offer a replacement when available or a refund.
- Refund method and timing: Approved refunds are sent by bank transfer, Cash Plus, or Wafacash within 7 business days after we receive, inspect, and approve the return.
- Opened or used products: Personal care products, oils, herbs, soaps, incense, and similar products cannot be returned for a change of mind. This does not apply to an incorrect, damaged, or defective product.
- Order cancellation: You can cancel before the order is handed to the delivery company. After dispatch, the return conditions above apply.
